It's REALLY Cold Today!

Cooperstown Church

It was really cold this morning. I went outside about 10:15 to get the newspaper, and checked the thermometer when I came back in: 13o. That's really appropriate for early December.

Linda and I went to the opening of the Winter Solstice Show at SCAC last night. This is a much nicer show than recent years - the work is more interesting, and there is less of it, so the overall impression is that it is not a mass of disconnected stuff. And unlike last year, my print (Jojo) is hanging in a much better location in the main room.

Progress is slow on Manuscript Central. ScholarOne has agreed to proceed while the lawyers work out the actual language for a contract modification, but I haven't seen any significant feedback on our concepts yet. Until that happens, I am still going to worry that we are asking for things that they aren't willing to do.

I am also concerned about timing, but Dawn told me this morning that it would be completed in time to support the trial use schedule next year.

Went to Dr. Fraterigo this week. The right eye is clearly getting worse, and he could schedule surgery now but wants to wait a while longer. I have another appointment in late June, and he anticipates that we will be doing the surgery shortly after that. The problem is especially noticeable while driving at night, but its not a real impediment. A greater concern is that because the right eye is so much further along, my eyes don't want to work together and that makes reading more difficult.

Just talked to Mark - he's off to the ExBoard meeting in Redondo Beach tomorrow. The PRC is nearly complete, but I think we need to do an overall review to make sure that everyone is in agreement with what has been said. Also, we need to make some decisions about who will be there for the review and when we will plan to gather. Linda and I are talking about spending the following week in the Mountain View area, so I want to book flights before prices go any higher.

The January issue is done - expect to get in in the mail in a couple of weeks. March is nearly done - just need Mark Halpin's column.

Vera called this morning to remind us that we are due at their house tomorrow night. We thought Roxy and Glen had said that they couldn't come, so the schedule had changed. Doesn't matter - we can be there.

A sent an e-mail to the dude at Riverfront Studies asking about their juried photography show. So far, no response. I had hoped that I would have the opportunity to show him some work.

This image is from my visit to the Farmer's Museum in August. This is the chapel. I think I have quite a few pieces that would fit together under the heading "Spaces".
