one of a series of photographs of Jojo and Heather done on 5 March
Christmas is just a week away. We called Dave yesterday - he was busy making snickerdoodles for a party that we was going to yesterday afternoon, so we kept the call short. He called back this afternoon to report that the snickerdoodles came through as something other than snickerdoodles, but he still felt they were the hit of the party. Anyway, he will be coming in Friday night, and we have a number of things planned before he leaves to go home on Tuesday morning.
Christmas shopping is done - I need to do some wrapping, but that will come tomorrow when no one is around to "watch". We don't have a lot of things planned - not sure if we are going to Church on Christmas Eve (probably will), and we will have a quiet family time on Christams day. Monday is open.
Did some printing this morning. The results are acceptable - four or five good prints in 11x14", with a few also done in 8x10" for either portfolios or salons.
I did the portrait of Jojo in my last printing session. I really like the detail and clarity of large format portraiture, but it's difficult because it demands so much of the subject. One comment that I've gotten on this is that I cut off his foot - yup, I did indeed.
I also want to do more interior work with the 4x5. Again, the clarity and detail are appealing, as well as all the interesting things that happen with light.
