It's been a quiet summer. Other than our Boston trip and day trips to Millbrook and Bennington, we have stayed home this year. Linda was busy preparing for dinner guests during the first part of the summer, and for the last couple of weeks has been getting ready for a garage sale. She's doing the sale this weekend, and the turnout has not been exciting. In fact, she's been "open" for two hours this morning, and so far there have been no browsers at all.
I'm scheduled for cataract surgery on Tuesday, and will be really glad to get that over. It's getting harder (and more tiring) to read, and that's a real drag.
At this point, I've received acceptances from all but two of the authors invited to publish next year, and one of those has promised to have something by tomorrow. There is one author (in Italy) who has not responded to e-mails (I've sent four), so I've made a decision about a substitute paper and will pull the trigger on that this week. I will have a lot to transfer to Transactions this year.
I need to find a workshop this Fall - I really missed the experience of going to Peters Valley this year. Fine Focus has something in the Brattleboro area in late October, but the date hasn't been confirmed yet.
This picture is from our trip to California in February.
