Hall of Springs

Tomorrow we leave for California. I'm excited about that. We plan to spend Friday in Sausalito, and perhaps also visit Marin Highlands for photography or geocaching. Then we will meed Dave for dinner. Saturday and Sunday with Dave. Then on Monday, we will drive to Napa to meet the Wine Train - have reservations for the luncheon trip. Tuesday we will visit wineries in Napa Valley. Wednesday we will drive back to San Jose, stopping in Oakland (Jack London Square) and Berkeley along the way. Plan to meet Dave for dinner Wednesday night before leaving for home on Thursday morning.
It's been unusually hot for the past several weeks. Linda and I had a nice time at First Thursday last week - she met a person she had gone to high school with and hadn't seen in 40+ years. We walked the full length of Broadway, hung out at SCAC for a while, and then drove over to the Arts District and visited several galleries there. It was a warm night, but still nice.
The 2006 publication plan is set in draft form. Now I need for the authors to respond. So far, there are only 9 who haven't responded at all - when I get back from California, I will take another look at the responses and throw out the people who didn't bother to reply to the invitation.
This picture is from my exploration of SPAC a month or so ago. I tried making a fine print but was frustrated by the converging verticals. I had used as much rise as I could considering that the lens was 90mm, but I think the compressed bellows caused the lens to tilt a bit. After working with the image digitally, I'm convinced that it won't take a lot of manipulation to correct the perspective. I've always liked this scene and this negative may be the one that results in a really good print.
