Easter Sunday

Strong Shadows Posted by Hello

Linda and I drove up to Bolton Landing yesterday, mainly to get out of the house for a while. Found a nice restaurant right next to Chic's Marina that had opened for the season on Friday - sat by the window looking out over the lake. The ice was still fairly thick out at the center of the lake although the pumps at the marina kept things fairly clear around the docks. The waitress explained that the ice would be receeding away from the shore over the next week or so, and the people who were out yesterday were probably taking advantage of the last opportunity this season to get out on the ice.

Stopped at the outlet shops on the way back, and then detoured around Moreau Lake State Park. Found the Spier Falls Hydro Plant - want to get back there some time. Also found a very nice scene just below where Spier Falls Road intersects with Mountain Road (outside Corinth). Made a couple of exposures that I developed this morning, one N-1 and the other N-2, to compensate for the fairly contrasty lighting.

Quiet day today - we will be going over to the Bistro later for dinner. Jeff just got a call changing his work schedule, so he will be able to be with us after all. Expect to call Dave in a few minutes.

This image was shot right here in the study last year. I saw these shadows on the closet door in the hallway, and make the exposure using my Nikon FM-2.
