Christmas Day 2004

Trio - along the banks of the Delaware River Posted by Hello

Called Dave in Beijing last night. He sounded great - he's enjoying his adventure, and he has made some friends to overcome the risk of lonliness.

We waited for Jeff to get off work, and then went to 11pm service at church. OK - but I really don't get any social value from the association, and I prefer a more formal service.

Today was Christmas. I helped Linda prepare dinner - peeled, cut and mashed the potatoes, made the gravy, etc. Had a nice Martinelli Russian River Sauvignon Blanc (1999) that we brought back from California a few years ago. But it was a quiet day with just the three of us. Never went out of the house.

Linda gave me a HP scanner. Couple of problems with it - its about 1/2" too long for the cubby under the desk - I have it on top of the desk for now, but I think I will get a longer USB cable and put it on top of the file cabinet. The other problem was loading the software, but I found that this was a known problem and there are downloadable patches on the HP web site to make it work.

So here's the first picture for the blog. It's from the 1999 Ernie Rubin workshop at Peters Valley.
